The last 2 days there are vertical lines across the entire screen. 32 lines alternating Red/Green, about 1 pixel wide. I have tried unplugging the set for an hour, all the screen restore options, and it is the same whether I am watching cable, DVD, games, and even with no source connected. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. I bought the set new 4 months ago. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When this happened to my 3 year old JVC, the warranty guy replaced 1 part on the board (CPU) and it worked. By the time he was getting in his truck the “rainbow” was back. He replaced the entire board. I got 2 more years until it happened again. Out of warranty, the repair is $500..

when we shift the channels, the screen will naturally turn black of course, and thats the time the horizontal lines from top to bottom are very visible for us to see. it can be seen even when we are watching a movie when the movie shows a dark surface. we tried already to adjust the settings like the bright-contrast but to no avail.
we bought it only last march 2008 (the lines started to show gradually within months) and a month later (april), our neighbor bought exactly the same size and brand of tv and we havent seen any lines on his tv.
is this normal? we paid approx $2,300 or 16,000 norwegian krones for it so its not a cheap TV so the saying “you get what you paid for” is not applicable to us. pls help us on what to do. 10 points for the best answer.
